Alright confession time...I picked up this book from *Netgalley solely because I fell in love with the cover. I know I know! I shouldn't do things like that. But I'm unrepentant cover whore.
It is hard to summarize this book as..well it is different. Written in verse it is almost like a short story for adults. A mouse in the attic has the author contemplating many things.
This is not the type of book I would normally read for myself. I read books that rhyme to my son but I rarely read poetry or the like for me. There are a few exceptions but even those exceptions are rare cases. We already know that I loved the cover. Well the meat of this short book wasn't that bad. It was interesting enough to keep me gliding along with it.
While verse is generally not my cup of tea I still relatively enjoyed it. I'm struggling to figure out what to rate it. I'm sitting at a 3 star but I'm not sure if that is fair to the author as this is not a genre that is for me. So I'm thinking of bumping it up one star.
I think I'm going to go with the 3 stars and leave up to everyone else to determine what they think of it.
*I was given a free copy from Netgalley in exchange for my honest opinion.
