Book Review: Cute Continent Cuddle by Besmala Orfaly

Here is another book I picked up from *Netgalley to read to my son. When I saw the alliterative cover with that cute polar bear I knew he would like this book.

Traveling from continent to continent this book contains pictures of different animals from all over the world while telling its story in a simple rhyme.

Ok so I've been sitting her trying to figure out what it is that I don't like about this book. Because there was something there that I didn't like but I just couldn't put my finger on it at the time I read it to my son. I figured out what it was finally after going back through the book. There is a pattern to how each animal is represented and the very last continent that is visited (north america) that pattern is changed. I didn't care for the pattern to begin with but then to change it at the end felt a bit...uggy if you can't understand what I mean.

However...and this is a huge however...my son LOVED this book. He loved all of the pictures of the cute animals. He was talking to me all about traveling and asking about traveling to see different animals. For him this was a solid 5 star book. In fact without my asking he told me "Put it down as 5 stars mom!"

So I'm at a loss here. For me this was at most a 3 star but for my son it was a 5 star. So do I split the difference and go with 4? Or do I go with my own opinion and put it at 3? Or should I go with the person that this book was orgininally intended for and give it a 5 star? In the end I think I have to go with what my child thinks.

So I'm going with a not so solid 5 out of 5 stars

*I received a free copy of this ebook from Netgalley in exchange for my honest opinion
**This book was read with my special needs son who is severely learning disabled. The review reflects not only my opinion but his as well

I agree, what matters is what he thinks, since he's who the book was aimed at. I remember when my daughter was little there were some books she loved that I just found annoying.
